Parents and Friends Association

“A true sense of partnership between the home, the school and the Church”

Mission Statement

The Parents and Friends Association of St Monica’s College seeks to work collaboratively with the school community in a positive manner to support the holistic development of students and the school environment.

General Information

The St Monica’s Parents and Friends Association is a parent representative body which has supported the College and provided enthusiastic parental participation for many years.

The objectives of the association are in keeping with the College Mission Statement which aims to foster the development of the spiritual, social, moral, academic and physical dimensions of all students by:

  • fostering the welfare and progress of St Monica`s College
  • developing maximum co-operation between parents and College staff
  • providing a medium for information and participation of parents in the College community
  • identifying services and talents within the College community and matching them to related educational, social and fundraising activities
  • giving public expression when the occasion arises on matters affecting Catholic Education
  • raising funds for the purposes of the College
  • providing a medium for the promotion of a spirit of community and mutual support at St Monica`s College

The Parents and Friends Association provides a valuable forum for parents and caregivers to discuss the issues impacting on their daughters’ education. The Association meets twice a term on a Monday at 6pm in the Sister Agnes Room. Meeting dates are in the College Calendar. Parents and caregivers will also be emailed a reminder in the week preceding the meeting.

A Parents and Friends Association levy is part of the College fee structure so the primary purpose of the Association is not fund raising. The distribution of the monies from the levy are discussed at P & F meetings.
